Eminem’s music Video “When I’m Gone” is an interesting music video to study because although the genre is rap it is not very positive or features the stereotypical “high life” of a rapper and instead shows how it can affect families, putting a grim mood into the music video which is expressed through the lighting.
However the outfit worn by Eminem, although the hoody could be part of the stereotypical look, is not full of “bling” and is actually toned down.

Despite the gritty tone of the music video, Eminem still finds time to use his hands and arms while performing.

We are now in a lighter and more fashionable setting, something expected to be seen in a rap music video.

And now we see him in a stereotypical outfit for a rapper.
This music video shows how we can keep similar themes and even change them slightly, making the tone different from what one would expect.
